THE CITY OF LIMA

It was called City of the Kings by the conqueror Francisco Pizarro. Today, that same city that arose on territories of the indigenous cacique Taulichusco, is a metropolis of more than 8 million inhabitants, who conserve with pride their colonial convents and large houses. Founded on 18th of January of 1535, Lima, the capital of Peru, is a modern city in constant growth, but that has known to maintain at the same time, the wealth of its Historical Center, declared by UNESCO like Cultural Patrimony of the Humanity, for being a charming backwater of a last time, won of incomparable artistic monuments.
The Cathedral, that began to be constructed teh same day of the foundation of the city; the Church and Convent of San Francisco, considered by its unit of volume and color the obtained architectonic set more of Hispano-America, and Santo Domingo, with beautiful claustro main, is only some of jewels of incalculable value of old Lima.
