PUERTO MALDONADO - FOREST

Port Maldonado, the capital of the department of Mother of God is located to 193 m .a.s.l. In the Eastern South zone of the country. By the north it limits with Ucayali, by the south and the west with Puno and the east with Brazil and Bolivia. Its territory includes zones of forest high and forest, with a tropical climate, warm and humid with rains of November to April. Its temperature average is of 25°C . Founded on 10th of Julio of 1902 with that name on tribute to Faustino explorer Maldonado, who crossed waters of the river Mother of God until its confluence with the Tambopata river.
Port Maldonado, is characterized by its remarkable delay in the economic development, due to the deficiency of suitable routes of communication. Its population, mainly is of native origin of selvatics tribes, dedicates itself to tasks of extraction of natural resources, wood, fruits, gold, etc. with little means of production.

Port Maldonado, is the door of entrance to the ecological paradise, where thousands of tourists observe the diversity of forest and rivers, diversity of species of mammals, insects and birds on the Earth, it is the best place for the lovers of the ecology and also for who look for the adventure in a exuberante vegetation, surrounded by species animals and unique vegetables in its genre.
