SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS

The Sacred Valley of Incas or Valley of the Vilcanota, counts on a matchless historical wealth and lodges in addition to three to the most important artisan markets of the Cusco : Písaq, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero. In the valley a succession of colorful towns exists (some with splendid colonial churches), archaeological platforms and other rest; thus also, we found in its fertile grounds the most famous maize of the world. Its exceptional climate turns to this valley a destiny forced for all that that visits Cusco. To an altitude of 2.800 m.a.s.l., with a pleasant climate, in spite of reaching high temperatures and of being a full zone of vegetation, the valley is free of mosquitoes by the altitude in which it is. Also we recommended remaining in the heat of to sleep one night Heart of the Sacred Valley in Ollantaytambo.

EXCURSION SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCA (Full day)

This tour begins with the gathering of the tourists of its hotels to direct to us through an asphalt road to the town of Pisaq, located to 32 km of Cusco, where it will be possible to be appreciated and to make some purchases in the artisan market (Main Seat of Pisaq), it will be observed the artisan typical work in ceramics, leather, silver and looms elaborated by the own craftsmen of the place. Continuing the excursion you will go through the towns of Coya, Lamay, Granary, Yucay, Urubamba, in this passage is observed some beautiful flora and fauna, that lasts approximately 45 minutes until arriving to the city of Urubamba where we will taste of the lunch buffet in a typical restaurant of food, then continuous the route towards the town of Ollantaytambo “Living Inca City”. A religious, administrative, political center with Inca streets, seats and temples. After the visit to this important archaeological center, we arrive to Chinchero, the last point of the route, it is necessary to return to Urubamba and to take the other route, to 29 kms of Urubamba, is the town of Chinchero a beautiful example of the Andean and the Hispanic architecture. Account with a very attractive colonial temple that was constructed on foundations of a Inca palace and also will be able to be visited of its typical market and its archaeological center. After visit we continue with the trip to the city of Cusco.
